The FantaticS site was planned, researched and created by: Lauren, Callum, Alana, Felix, Adam, Stephanie, Ryan and Taylor.

Brief Overview
On the Fanfiction.net web site you are able to add to original stories (movies, TV shows, video games, and also different books) that other people have already made. You can even make additional chapters or a whole new ending!

Users can review other users’ stories, to give them advice about their stories or just to compliment them. As well as reviewing, users can send private messages to each other. They can also join forums to talk to other users about some of the topics they can write about.

Most of the time, the original creator has rarely officially commissioned or given permission, or even actually has any knowledge of the works. However, this is not an issue as the works are for entertainment purposes only – they are almost never actually professionally published. Most have a note or disclaimer stating that the creator of the FanFic claims no ownership of the characters/and or settings.

There is also a site called FictionPress which is a sister site to Fanfiction.net. There is where you can publish and read your works. The difference between the two sites is that at FictionPress you only post original stories, Fanfiction.net is where you can post stories related or similar to, or based on new stories. The sites fanfiction.net and fictionpress.com have a total of over 1.2 million original stories written by over 1 million publishers.

History
Fanfiction.net is a website that was created by Xing Li, a Los Angeles software designer in late 1998. In the past 18 months, Fanfiction.net (a.k.a. FFN) has become the hot spot for teens who love to read, write stories and publish them on the web. This website is focused on teens, what they like to read, and letting them post their stories and express themselves on the Internet. It has drawn thousands of teens to it in the past couple months.
