Oprah Winfrey

oprah winfrey.jpgOprah Winfrey (January 29, 1954) is an American talk show host, actress, producer and philanthropist. Her self named talk show, the highest rated program of its kind has won several awards. She had reinvented her show with a focus on literature, self-improvement, and spirituality.
Oprah Winfrey co-founded the women's cable television network Oxygen. She is also the president of Harpo Productions (Oprah spelled backwards). On January 15, 2008, Winfrey and Discovery Communications announced plans to change Discovery Health Channel into a new channel called OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. It was scheduled to launch in 2009, but was delayed, and was actually launched on January 1, 2011.
The series finale of The Oprah Winfrey Show was aired on May 25, 2011.
Ranked as the richest African-American of the 20th century, Oprah has been assessed by some as the most influential woman in the world. She is a source of inspiration to many youngsters today. Her recent visit to India brought to the forefront her popularity and charisma across the  world.
