The Xinhai Revolution or Hsinhai Revolution, also known as Revolution of 1911 or the Chinese Revolution, was a revolution that overthrew China's last imperial dynasty, the Qing (1644–1912), and established the Republic of China. 2011 marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of China. The revolution began on 10 October 1911. 10 October is commemorated as Double Ten Day in Taiwan. In mainland China the same day is celebrated as The Anniversary of Xinhai Revolution. The anniversary is also celebrated in Chinatowns across the world.
Xinhai Revolution also known as The 1911 Revolution, is a 2011 Chinese historical drama film. The film is a tribute to the 100th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution. It is also Jackie Chan's 100th film in his career. Besides starring in it, Chan is also the executive producer and director of the film. Co-stars include Chan's son Jaycee Chan, Li Bingbing, Winston Chao, Joan Chen and Hu Ge.
