GLOBAL PROJECTS
WE CROSS BOUNDARIES TO STRENGHTEN OUR FRIENDSHIP
1. Our Student Delegation In Indonesia
A nine member student delegation accompanied by their teacher incharge visited Al Azhar High School, Jakarta, Indonesia from January 12 to January 22.It was indeed a trip to remember for everyone as it taught the students better understanding, tolerance towards other cultures as well as improving language and life skills needed by the students to confront global challenges .
  

TODAY’S YOUTH AND THE TEACHINGS OF SWAMI VIVEKANAND

                                
“Arise, Awake and Stop not till the goal is reached.”
These immortal words of Swami Vivekananda inject an extra dose andrenaline in the veins of today’s youth to move not only towards success and glory but also towards the path of self – realization and excellence .The annual Ramakrishna Quiz Competition kept the teachings of Swamiji alive and encouraged the youth to imbibe and maintain his rich legacy of wisdom . The students who won the final round competition , received cash awards by the chief guest of the event , Dr. Kiran Bedi (IPS) , Socialist Activist .The school won an appreciation for the maximum participation. It was indeed an eye-opening and mesmerizing journey into the spiritual world of Vedanta and Upanishads that runs parallel to the materialistic and competitive world of today.

   

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS IN OUR SCHOOL

“In triumph and in tragedy one nation, under God, indivisible
And to the republic for which it stands
With liberty and justice for all,
United we stand……”
With the same patriotic fervour and zest was the 61st Republic Day celebrated in our school. The hoisting of the National Flag by the Principal Ms A Aggarwal was followed by a cultural bonanza presented by the students of the middle wing of the school .Singing of patriotic songs , filled everyones hearts with pride as the songs saluted the national and unsung heroes who had sacrificed their lives for this beautiful country .This was followed by a melodious  Qawwali “Sarfaroshi ki Shama…..” ,which talked about cross border terrorism and the involvement of youth in it .The programme ended with beautifully  choreographed dance performances depicting the National Symbols , confluence of west and east and finally representing the essence of India and finally representing the essence of India ‘Unity In Diversity’ . The Principal congratulated the students for their performance and urged everyone to understand their responsibilities as citizens of India.

   

OUR STUDENT PLAYS FOR DELHI – UNDER 16
Our school made its presence felt in the Delhi State under-16 Football team. The matches for the Mir Iqbal Trophy 2011 were held in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, from 20th to 29th January 2011. Durum Dabas, of class VIII - B of our school, was selected in this team. He represented Delhi along with 19 other players, where they got an opportunity to play with teams like Haryana and Chandigarh. Under the able and unending encouragement of the school and Delhi State Soccer Coach Mr. Dhanveer, the matches became a learning ground for the team. They returned with a wonderful experience.

  
ARTISTIC PURSUITS
1.   WE BAG THE BEST SCHOOL TROPHY
In the Inter School Art Contest , which was organized by the Ramjas Fondation . The Best School Trophy was bagged by our school.

 

FEBRUARY

    OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE IN SKATING
Our students participated in an Inter School Skating Championship, conducted by St. Mark’s Girls Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, on 10.2.2011, for classes I to VI. 10 schools of West Delhi participated in the event. Our school bagged the second position.      

                         
SPORTS 
ANNUAL SPORTS MEET
Sports have been a priority in our school and the Annual Sports Meet is the most awaited event for students, which saw a huge participation of the young and spirited sports enthusiasts. It included a large variety of athletics and games. The primary Wing of our school had their Annual Sports Meet on 24th and 25th February 2011. After the ceremonial inauguration of the Meet by the Vice Principal, Ms. V. Wahi, students of classes I to V gathered at the venue enthusiastically to participate in the track events . On 25th February, the field events were held for the first time for the primary students. These included Football and Throwball for classes IV & V. ‘Hitting the Target’ for class III, ‘Treasure Hunt’ for class II and ‘Roll the Ball’ for class I. There was a mass participation in all the events and the sports meet was a grand success.

 

    ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK AND BIODIVERSITY PARK
On 11 February 2011, a group of 80 students along with three teachers went for an excursion organized by the Indian Express to Mehrauli Archaeological Park. There they visited the Jamali-Kamali Mosque. The mosque had a mystic look. They made their way over Metcalfe’s Bridge, a folly with a dome and arches. They also visited a stepwell named Rajajaon-ki-Baoli. The tour guide told them about the interesting facts. It was indeed a memorable trip.
On 21 March 2011, a group of student of classes 9th&12th accompanied by two teachers of our school visited the Yamuna Biodiversity Park. They were given a guided tour by Ms. MNaing. They observed migratory birds like large Cormonant, Kingfisher, Drongo, and Primia
ART CONTEST BY SHAHJAHANABAD REDEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation (SRDC), organized an Art Contest at Nehru Park, Chanakya Puri, New Delhi, on 24 January, 2011. A team of 20 students from classes V to VIII participated in it . The paintings of the students were appreciated by the judges and displayed for Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi. Smt. Shiela Dikshit, and all the participants .The competition was followed by an exhibition of photographs by the eminent photographer and author, Sh. Rwandan Kr. Singh .
KALEIDOSCOPE PAINTING COMPETITION
HT PACE conducted Kaleidoscope II Painting Competition at India Gate lawns on 2 February 2011. There were four participants from our school.
4.  ON THE SPOT MEGA PAINTING COMPETITION
NIE organized an On The Spot Mega Painting Competition , in association with Indraprastha World School , Paschim Vihar to welcome the season of happiness and love on 7 March 2011 .

 

 

ARTISTIQUE 2011

15 students of our school participated actively in “Artisque 2011”, a painting competition organized bi Times of India, at Indraprastha World School, Paschim Vihar on 7 February2011.

 ART CONTEST BY SHAHJAHANABAD REDEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation (SRDC), organized an Art Contest at Nehru Park, Chanakya Puri , New Delhi , on 24 January ,2011 . A team of 20 students from classes V to VIII of our school participated in it. The paintings of the students were appreciated by the judges and displayed for Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi. Smt. Shiela Dikshit , and all the participants .The competition was followed by an exhibition of photographs by the eminent photographer and author,Mr Ranjan Kr. Singh .

A WORKSHOP ON PHILATELY
It was a priviledge for the students of our school as they got an opportunity to interact with Ms. Savita Jhinghan. A prominent Philatelist who visited the school on January 24 ,2011.She held a workshop for the students and enlightened them with her knowledge of stamps . She asked the students various questions regarding stamps and gave interesting stamps as rewards for the correct answers .Ms. Savita also told the students about the World Philatelic Exhibition which was to be held in Delhi from 12th to 18th February , at Pragati Maidan . The students were really excited to visit the exhibition and build up a bigger collection of stamps . At  the end of the day she also heard and appreciated the song which had been written and composed by the for the inaugural function at the exhibition .Around 70 students , alongwith 4 teachers were invited for the inauguration of the World Philately Exhibition INDIPEX 2011.The occasion was graced by the Hon’ble President of India , Smt. Pratibha Patil , and other dignitaries . The students not only got an opportunity to browse through various stamps but also got their own stamps made. The highlight of the day was the performance by our school students of a self composed song, accompanied with music, in front of the exhibitors and the people who had come to visit the exhibition.

WE WELCOMED BASANT


Basant Panchami was celebrated by the students of classes I and II of our school. It began with the ‘Saraswati Puja’ , followed by ‘Saraswati Vandana’ and a Bengali dance depicting the spring season . Children were dressed up as sunflowers, trees, birds, butterflies etc. The freshness and the bloom of spring could be seen all around.

OUR SCHOOL CONTRIBUTES 
On the occasion of Basant Panchmi, the staff and students  of our school extended a helping hand to SOS, a non-government, voluntary organization providing family environment and avenues for all round development of orphan children .The amount collected by our school was the highest amongst all the schools of Delhi. The children who contributed the maximum were given medals, certificates and certain

GUESTS FROM SWEDEN VISIT SOS VILLAGE
Ms.S.Malik and Ms.M.Parashar, teachers of our school , accompanied by the Swedish Guests, Ms.Cecilia and Ms.Kaijen, visited SOS Village at Bawana, on 26.2.2011. The guests from Sweden and children of SOS interacted  with each other about the curricular and co-curricular activities. The Swedish friends were impressed with the infrastructural facilities of SOS. As well as the approach of our students who have always extended a helping hand to SOS. Finally, after cutting the cakes and distributing chocolates, lovingly sent by the senior students of our school, they returned back to school.

 MARCH

FUN AND FROLIC
Picnics for students of classes I to V was organized by our school . Students were taken to Adventure Island where they enjoyed rides like ‘Z – Force, ‘Jungle Safari’ and ‘striking cars’. They were fascinated by the magic show and the bioscope where 3D images of various exotic destinations were shown.
An adventure day camp for classes III and IV was held on 17.3.2011 and for classes V on 14.3.2011 in the school campus.
