How
factories and other things pollute our waters and general facts about water
It’s stated that 3 quarters of the earths surface is water, but yet 1.4 billion people in the world do not have safe drinking water. Did you know that eighty percent of disease in the world is related to poor drinking water? 5 million people die annually from water born diseases ?one percent of the earths water is reusable, 99 percent is found in oceans and glaciers ? Canada’s the largest supply of the freshwater in the world? Wow I think that that is pretty cool since we live in Canada.

<~cleaner water

It’s not just the actual factories that are just polluting the waters
if a big group with garbage or anything else that would pollute the water gets
together it is like a factory polluting the water but if everyone helps clean
up and doesn’t throw their garbage in the lakes and rivers then would
be like a humongous clean up factory.
There are many causes of water pollution, but two general gategories exsist-
direct and indirect sources. Some direct sources include outfalls from factories,
refineries, waste treatment plants, etc..) indirect sources include containments
that enter the water supply from soils/ groundwater systems and from the atmosphere.
Soils and ground waters contain the residue of human agricultural practices
like fertilizers, pesticides, etc). atmospheric contaminants are also unoriginal
from human practices such as gaseous emissions from automobiles, factories and
even bakeries.
The
effects of water pollution are varied. Including- poisonous drinking water,
poisonous food animals, unbalanced river and lake ecosystems that can no longer
support full biological range, deforestation from acid rain, and several additional
affects.
Breyers (a ice cream factory) pollutes our waters because they dump left over
ice cream down the drain and the water treatment plants can not keep up so it
ends up going into the Lynn river and then into lake Erie, so if you think about
it you’re really swimming in ice cream im not sure what that means to
you but it means a lot to me and I don’t just mean swimming you do lots
of stuff with water including drinking it. EWW! So you need to help! All of
that stuff isn’t just with breyers it would be with a lot of different
factories.
At first when I was given this Topic of pollution I thought yah what ever no
one cares about pollution, then after I researched it I thought boy was I ever
wrong I don’t normally swim in a lake but its not necessarily just swimming
you bath in it, drink it, cook with it , even do your Landry in it , and so
much more you use water everyday but if its polluted then there really is no
point of using it.
